What a wicked night!!
High Velocity down in bognor regis.
It all Started ......by all trying to get the hook ups timed right to all meet and get sorted, Dubya and Sweetie kindly came and picked me up from the old studio (nice one) met up with Andy , Kayleigh, and Jo, and we all set off for Bognor in a 2 cars,
Glad we got there all in one piece, nb: dubya dont forget next time theres a right hand turn before you boot it on the motorway..that bush was very close to gobbling us all up.lol) After all the smoke and sceech of tires we made it to bognor. Im felt bad at this point for a few seconds remembering that even after forgetting to get the chips sweetie asked me for I managed to forgot to get her snickers at the petrol garage we stopped at on route aswell, Im sure I could here her tummy rumbling over the loud sound of seagulls that greeted us when we finally made it to promenade..apologises there. Ive got the memory of a blooming goldfish.. now where were we in the story.. ive forgotten.. erm... oh yeah....the MUD CLUB.
The Mud Club is right opposite the pier , lovely setting, proper seaside feel! Outside the club we met up with Toxic from London , who had now moved down to good ole Bognor, big up m8!
On entering the club the friendly security and staff let us all in out of the freezing cold sea air, that we were all trying to smoke vibrating fags without much luck, the shivers we all had were over whelming. If you ever go to Bognor this time of yeah make sure you wear a yeti coat!!!
Inside the club the staff were all setting up the place, ready for a serious night of raving, it looked wicked, met up with MC TJ who showed us around we all found the decks and made ourselves at home!
I placed the first tune on the dex and punched the volume to max and the club came alive, the lighting and sound system in there was second to none, thay got the perfect set up to mix on! The sound technician was close on hand for any help you needed for tweaks here and there and also was very aproachable and friendy. respect to him.
The first set I played back to back with Dubya and we both gave it 110%, soon the place was buzzing with the original old skool feel in the air!!!! smiles all around , and everyone having a wickid time!!! the screams and cheers comin from the mud club ravers were wickid, Dubya and myself were excatley where we loved to be....crowd pleasing with our tunes!!!!!
After our b2b session, it was time to hand over the crowd control to DJ CUNNING STUNT , who absolutey rinsed his set from start to finish , proper phat set of old skool jungle!!!!!!!! he said he couldnt decide which tunes to bring with him so he brought them all!!!!! big up Cunning Stunt!!!!
The place was banging now, Cunning stunt had got everyone buzzing there tits and nuts off!!! He kindy handed the decks back to me
I flipped the style and played an hour set of old skool Anthems, starting off with Everbody in the place by prodigy going thru all the anthems and also bunging in there afew known breakbeak selections including DJ RAP's Spiritual AURA remix which was definalty my favourite tune i had in me box, 2 bad mice, all reinforced shizzle and ending with Raving im raving by peter Bouncer (which Jo had previously requested before even getting to the club so only thought it would be polite to select it). what a perfect tune to play for last tune, the crowd wend mad for it! As the all the whole room rocked to the sound of my last tune of the night I turned round only to Sweetie chatting to topbuzz Mad-p and Jason Kay,
who were all loving the sounds with big smiles on the faces, . Perfect timing! Through my set, Andy who came with us grabbed the mic and spat out sum serious lyrical genius, he rinsed the mic for the rest of the night, Reeeeeespect to Andy, (Im sure youll see alot more of him, tune in to the wicked wednesday show for that!)
Then it was time for me to hand over dex to the old skool legends "TOPBUZZ" , Jason Kay on the 1's and 2's and Mad-P on the MIC . What a wickid set they played , made my night to meet them both, as I remeber dancing away to them years ago , when I first got introduced to the scene at Dreamscape. Pretty much all the tape packs I owned had topbuzz on them or if Jason werent mixing Mad-p was the voice of Dreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeamscaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaape (as he wud put it).
Massive massive reeeespect to the topbuzz duo from all of us at subbassfm!!!!!(I think I can speak on the behalf of us all as im sure we all agree it was a pleasure to be part of a TopBuzz v Subbassfm night courtesy of High velocity.
After Topbuzz had come to there last tune, the crowd were begging for more, Andy on the mic kept the crown entertained with his lyrics and introducing the next dj.....DJ DUBYA!!!!
Dubya took over the controls from Topbuzz and absolutley rinsed out an amazing set which took the ravers right to the end of the night, Dubyas set was proper phat, Dubya with his turbo scratching skills blew the roof of the club (if so to speak). The ravers on the dance floor loving it, all I could see were smiles and hands in the air and the whole place rockin out to the old skool anthems!!!!!Sweetie, Kayleigh and Jo all getting down and stomping to the tunes!!! Check out the Subbassfm Gallery for pics even TJ broke out some moves on the dancefloor if I remember rightly.
Toxic and Jo never sat down I think , they was raving right till the end of the night!!!!
As the end of the end came to a close we all said our goodbyes and thanked Stuart (Promoter of High Velocity) for inviting Subbassfm to the night. BIG UP STUART!!!! props to you!!!
On the whole a wickid night, one to remember.. hopefully there will be more to come (I think sweetie has something in the pipeline..dont mean that to sound rude btw.. you know what i mean). Im sure there will be lots more events to come along to if your reading this and missed out. Dont miss the next one! It will be massive!!!!!!Keep an eye out on the forum for upcoming subbassfm events , and hope to see you there!!!!!!!!
